Black Myth Wukong The Bull King’s Iron Horn: In Chapter 5, “The Flaming Mountain,” Black Myth: Wukong introduces players to a secret area. Unlocking this area requires completing the Five Carts quest given by the Pale-Axe Stalwart. If you haven’t gained access to Bishui Cave yet, you won’t be able to fight the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast or claim the “Bull King’s Iron Horn.”
What is the Bull King’s Iron Horn?
The Bull King’s Iron Horn is an ore you collect during gameplay. It’s used to craft or upgrade various equipment, including weapons and armor. You can also use it to complete certain quests. The Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast, a boss in Bishui Cave, drops the ore during Chapter 5.

How to Access the Flaming Mountain Secret Area in Black Myth: Wukong
To enter the secret area in Black Myth: Wukong’s Flaming Mountain, players need to defeat the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast in the Cave Depths of Bishui Cave to collect three Bull King’s Iron Horns.
Starting the quest.
Before tackling this secret area, you must complete the Pale-Axe Stalwart quest. This quest can be triggered beyond the Ashen Pass at the Keeper’s Shrine. Once you’ve defeated the Pale-Axe Stalwarts, they will deliver a dialogue that progresses the story.
During this phase, you’ll encounter three different carts:
- Brown-Iron Cart: Found after climbing the Pale-Axe Stalwart’s stairs.
- Grey-Bronze Cart: After activating the Height of the Ember Keeper’s Shrine, head toward the area to find the Grey-Bronze Cart.
- Crimson-Silver Cart: After defeating the Keepers of Flaming Mountain and the Yin-Yang Fish, you’ll come across this cart.
At the end of the chapter, after meeting Red Boy, you can defeat him or lose the fight. Regardless of the outcome, you’ll respawn at the nearest shrine. Once you’re back, a new path will open near the massive metal ball, which you can use to reach the bottom of the slope.
Upon reaching the bottom, a cutscene featuring the Rusty-Gold Cart and the Pale-Axe Stalwart will play. Afterward, it would help if you defeated the enemy to gain access to Bishui Cave.
How to Defeat the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast in Black Myth: Wukong
The Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast is a formidable opponent at the end of a secret area in Black Myth: Wukong. This beast is aggressive, so you must be well-prepared before facing it. When you enter this hidden area, immediately be ready for intense combat—there’s little time to adjust.
Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast Attacks
The Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast uses fire-based attacks, so caution is vital. I recommend equipping the Fireproof Mantle, which is helpful if you’ve previously defeated Elder Jinchi in Chapter 1. This mantle and a vessel will grant you some fire resistance and immunity from burn effects, both crucial when facing this fiery foe.
Throughout the battle, the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast charges at you, leaving trails of flames in its wake. It also has a devastating aerial attack—when it leaps into the air, that’s your cue to dodge or run. Before striking, the beast often lets out a roar, signaling its next move. Keep an eye on that roar as a warning to prepare for its next fiery attack. Additionally, the Yaoguai King can breathe fire, which can be fatal if you aren’t equipped with Body-Cooling Powder or a Fireproof Mantle.
Reward: The Bull King’s Iron Horn
Once you’ve successfully defeated the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast, you’ll be rewarded with the Bull King’s Iron Horn. This rare resource is essential for crafting powerful armor.
