Black Myth Wukong Chapter 4 Secrets: There are tonnes of hidden things in the game. In Chapter 4 of Black Myth: Wukong, there are a total of five secret areas spread out across the chapter. Chapter 4 is said to contain the largest and rarest secret areas, complete with boss battles waiting to be discovered. If you’ve been wondering how, you can find these secrets in the game, it’s pretty straightforward.
The bosses in Chapter 4 are quite challenging and will keep you on your toes as you enter the latter half of the game. However, finding the secret areas isn’t easy—they can be extremely easy to miss if you’re not careful. The secret areas continue after Chapter 3, with an entire hidden area called Purple Cloud Mountain waiting to be discovered. If you want to access this area, there are specific actions you’ll need to take early on in the level.
How to Unlock Purple Cloud Mountain in Chapter 4
This area can be unlocked after defeating the Venom Daoist boss twice in different locations. You’ll first encounter the boss in The Webbed Hollow. By travelling toward the Pool of Shattered Jade Keeper’s Shrine, you can attack the Old Cocoon to start a cutscene where the Daoist appears for the fight.
Since there are two phases in the game, you’ll need to fight the Venom Daoist a second time. After defeating the boss in this phase, a mural will be revealed on a wall in the boss arena. You’ll need to interact with this mural to enter the secret area.

In this chapter, players will explore spider-filled caves, scale the heights of the Purple Cloud Mountains, uncover hidden treasure, and engage in epic boss battles along the way. After you find the Second Sister in the East of Zu, she will drop down a hole that will take you to the Upper Hollow. From there, you can go toward the slope leading to the Upper Hollow Shrine.
Venom Daoist Location 1
Start at the Webbed Hollow, then head over to the Pool of Shattered Jade. From there, take the right path toward the shrine leading to the large spider cocoon hanging from the ceiling. Attack it until you defeat it, and the Venom Daoist will flee. You’ll have to track him down again later in the same chapter.
Finding the Purple Cloud Mountain
Before heading out, make sure you’re powerful enough because you’ll be facing the formidable Venom Daoist. This battle unfolds in two separate areas. The Venom Daoist will retreat after you start gaining the upper hand during the first encounter.
The first location is at the Pool of Shattered Jade Shrine in Chapter 4. The second is in the Webbed Hollow, directly to the right. Pass all the hanging spider cocoons, and you’ll find him at the end of the path in his own cocoon. He’ll break free, have a quick chat, and then attempt to take you down.
This boss is fast, armed with double swords, and has several rapid attacks, including forward slashes and dashes. Stay alert, because once he retreats, you’ll need to track him down again to finish the job.
Venom Daoist Location 2
Next, head to the Temple of the Yellow Flower and look for the Court of Illumination. From the shrine, turn around and take the path opposite. When the path splits, go left until a cutscene triggers, and you’ll face the Venom Daoist again in the first location.
This time, you’ll need to defeat him in two phases, each with a full health bar. After the fight, interact with him to unlock the way to the secret Purple Cloud Mountain area.
For the secondary location, look for him near the Court of Illumination Shrine in the Temple of Yellow Flower. Go through the door with steps leading down. If you see two yellow-robed guards standing nearby, you’re on the right track. Follow the path through a gate on the side of the courtyard, head toward the mountain, and take the next two lefts to find the Venom Daoist.
After this encounter, the Venom Daoist will try to engage you again. This fight will be intense, so prepare yourself. Once defeated, he’ll open the path to the Purple Cloud Mountain area, revealing a new region to explore in the game.

Another major secret in Chapter 4 involves confronting the Yellow Long, the final boss in a four-boss series. Face him, you need to have obtained the Long Scale in Chapter 2 and defeated Yellow Long’s brother. After defeating Yellow Long, you’ll receive the Golden Carp Curia and the C Supporting Pendant—both valuable crafting materials.
Upon entering the first shrine, Valley of Bloom, you’ll find the Scorpionlord sitting on top of a roof on the right side. Destroy his legs to trigger the fight. Next, head to Duskveil, located at the end of the central path at the top of the village. Defeat him to finish the secret area, which will teleport you back outside. You can return anytime to explore further.
Lastly, I suggest exploring thoroughly until the end. Taking down the final boss is essential for uncovering other secrets you might want to complete in the game. Enjoy the adventure, and may you uncover all the secrets in Black Myth: Wukong!
